Roy Barnes of Hamann Construction finishes the foundation slab for the George E. & Susan E. Schiereck Grimm Council Circle, beating the onset of winter, 2022.
Sponsored by George Grimm of Milwaukee, the George E. & Susan E. Schiereck Grimm Council Circle is located on the Highland Trail in the Arboretum.
The Council Circle is derived from Native American heritage and was frequently included in the garden layouts of the famous mid-western landscape architect and conservationist Jens Jensen.
The floor paving of the circle features a compass rose pattern, with the axis of equinox and solstice etched into the stone. Seating is Valders stone.
Pavers are available for sponsorship and memorials.
